Under $20

A few weeks ago, I went on a spontaneous thrifting trip with my friend Suzy. We got brunch at a diner and both had a free day so we drove to Quakertown to check out a couple thrift stores.

... little did I know I'd end up with so much stuff! The funniest part of this, is that it was right before it was time for me to pack up all my belongings to travel across the country. I'm trying to downsize.. but I couldn't help it! I found so many good things for really cheap!

This was the first shirt I saw when we walked in the store. I immediately wanted it, but didn't think it would fit. Surprise! It fit perfectly with some high-waisted jeans. Score.

This one was a classic. I wear a lot of black, and foxes are awesome - done.

And who would ever question this shirt? Bonus, it glows in the dark. All three of these shirts were from Salvation Army in Quakertown, PA.

It's been a while since I bought any new (old) books. And of course I chose the time I'm trying to downsize to buy a whole pile. I never read any of these, and most of them I've been curious about for a while, so I just thought "let's do this," and got them all.

I'm always on a hunt for new pyrex dishes on the cheap. I noticed the kitchen stuff was all half off right before we left the store and nabbed this one, lid and all.

Speaking of half off kitchen stuff - I got this glass for a quarter. My mom called me a glass homewrecker because I take one instead of a whole set.. I call it ending up with less stuff. The glass, dish, and books are all from Liberty Thrift in Quakertown, PA.

All of this stuff came out to be less than $20! Why would I not thrift?

Recent Finds

Here are some items I recently picked up!

I found this magnet at Goodwill. We haven't been to Lassen yet, but it's on our to-do list! Since we found a souvenir for a better price at the thrift store, we figured why not get it now? It's a cool, cut-out-slab-of-wood magnet!

This glass also comes from Goodwill (same trip). I know I mentioned before how much I love sets of glasses - here's my first success in only buying one from the set (it helped that all of them were exactly the same - when they match but are slightly different, it's harder to pass up). Anyway, I love this owl!

This bandana is actually cut in half, but I don't really care. It was a good price (for half a bandana) and I love the color. I might wear it, or I might use it for decoration - haven't decided yet! (This comes from the Roseville Hospice Thrift Store.)

I just picked up a little something yesterday in Reno, but I already had this post ready to go, so you'll see that in the near future.

Capital Cities

This set of glasses is a thrifted gift! I was eying them up at Black Diamond in Frackville, PA, but I ended up not buying them. I am extremely indecisive, so Ed waited while I hovered over them for a long time. A few months later, I received them as a gift - he went back and bought them for me! (I had absolutely no idea.)

There used to be 4 to the set, but I clumsily knocked one over as I was reaching for the lemonade. It was red with a Madrid theme.

I use these ALL THE TIME. They're always the first ones I grab when I open the cabinet.

Coat of Arms

I got this set of glasses while on a 4 hour Salvation Army binge with my friend Catie a few years back. There are actually four more glasses to the set. I definitely don't need all 8, but I couldn't resist getting the entire set. I am a sucker for a good set of glasses, but I need to tell myself to just get one or two instead (or I'll have wayyy too many!)

 Check out those classy lions on the sides. And the gold!
