Puzzle Feature #3

It's been a while since I showed you some thrifted (and completed) puzzles!

A while back we picked up a box full of assorted animal puzzles. Here's the first bunch that we completed.

My usual OCD setup.

This one took a whiiiile. We usually stick to 500 pieces, but this one was 1000.

Just some little animal cuties to brighten your day, thanks for stopping by!

Antique Trove Sale

Last weekend, Ed and I busied ourselves with lots of thrifting adventures. It started out by just being a morning of estate sales - but after seeing signs for yard sales, stopping at the thrift store, and then seeing a huge red SALE sign at the Antique Trove - it turned into much more of an adventure. Add some Mexican food into the mix and fireworks at the end of the day, and you've got one amazing Saturday.

We didn't find much all day until we got to the Antique Trove. We were actually on our way home, but that sale sign caught my eye and we turned around.

We picked up a few treasures - all of which matched well for a little blog photoshoot.

When Ed picked this one up to check the price, we double and triple checked it. It was the cheapest thing we ever found at the trove! Obviously he already liked it, so that sealed the deal. A great find!

1. We love globes/maps. 2. We love books. 3. We love secret hiding places. This couldn't be more perfect for us. It's in great condition, too!

I found the perfect addition to my brass animal collection!! These are just so cute. I found them right before we were about to check out and I'm so happy I spotted them.

It usually ends up that you find the coolest stuff when you didn't plan on shopping in the first place!

Yard Sale 6/1/13

On our way to a show in Sacramento two Saturdays ago, we saw some signs for yard sales and estate sales. We were early since we planned on stopping at a mini golf place too, so we stopped to check them out.

One estate sale and two yard sales, and we ended up with 3 items - all from just one of the yard sales.

A new addition to my brass animal collection; a unicorn. (More of the collection here and here.)

This old framed photo. Not sure of the location, but I like the aged look of it.

We've been on the lookout for vintage clocks, but they're usually broken and overpriced. But broken and a few bucks? We'll take it! (More clocks here.)

Some good yard sale finds, followed by indoor black light Monster Mini Golf and a Finch show = a great Saturday.

Brass Animals Part 1

I know I mentioned my brass animal collection in this post, so here's your first peek into it!

Since I have quite a few animals, I figured I'd break them up into different posts.

Ed got me this snail from Route 65 Trading Post as a part of my Christmas present last year. We found a whole bunch of little brass animals that time, so you'll see that antique store popping up a lot with these.

This owl also comes from Route 65 Trading Post, but a different time. It's so surprisingly heavy!

I got this ram from the Antique Trove.

This turtle was also a part of my Christmas present from Ed (from Route 65 Trading Post).

More to come in future posts!
