A Ship, A Deer, And A Mustached Man

Here are a few things from my wall that I put together for no particular reason (other than I liked how they looked as a group).

That mustached man was the one thing missing that I pointed out from this post.

I picked up this little guy from a community church yard sale a few years ago. I just thought he was so silly with that hair/mustache/hat! I kept him in storage until we had moved into our place in CA, and then I found he fit in quite perfectly with the collection on my wall. Thankfully he didn't break when he took a tumble!

This deer comes from the Salvation Army in Wilkes-Barre, PA. Just a random trip I took one day and I stumbled across it in the very sparse photo/wall decoration section. The stickers peeled a bit of the paper off, but that adds to the second-hand nature. (Why do they always put stickers ON photos rather than on the backs??)

I got this ship at a yard sale - out of a box of photo frames and the like. I grabbed some frames as well (featured in this post). They were all a quarter each. Definite score.

Down the Hallway

The hallway was definitely not the first place I thought to decorate - it's not a place we spend a whole lot of time. However, over time we've picked up a few items that ended up being perfect for that area of the apartment. Here's a peek!

(Of course it's not the brightest place in the apartment.)

These three frames come from a yard sale - a quarter a piece. The photos are my own.

This comes from Goodwill.

We picked these up at the Roseville Hospice Thrift Store.

These come from a yard sale.

Just a few things to brighten up a much used (yet much ignored) part of our home!

$2 Box

On our way to our 4th and 5th destinations on Saturday, Ed spotted a church community yard sale in a field off the highway. We made a detour and headed straight for it (obviously). As we walked closer to the crowd of people and junk, a volunteer told us that we could fill a box, any size box, for $5. Needless to say, we grabbed the biggest/sturdiest box we could find and got to pickin'. (And boy, was it hot out.)

As you can see, it was the end of the sale, and everything was strewn about. We were literally looking through piles of stuff. Lots of things were broken - it was basically all the leftovers from the day.

So what's in the box?

A thousand piece puzzle, a pack of 10 animal puzzles, two books (Bad Idea and The Templar Salvation), a wooden bowl, two plates, John Denver's Greatest Hits, three rectangle photo frames, and one oval photo frame.

And when we got in line to pay, they only charged us $2. Score!
